SLUSH'D Event Map
As part of the Violet Ventures-organized Slush'd event at NYUAD, Alima was tasked with improving wayfinding and navigation within the A6 building, where the event was held. The project began with a clear objective: to simplify navigation for event attendees.
Drawing on her experience from the Foundations of Graphic Design course, she took on the challenge of designing a map that would serve as a central guide for the event. Using Adobe Illustrator and the original building plan, Alima carefully crafted a map that was both functional and visually appealing, while also adhering to the event’s branding guidelines.
In addition to the printed map displayed throughout the venue, Alima explored ways to make the navigation experience more engaging. She hosted the map on the event’s website, allowing users to click on auditoriums and see relevant events appear. To further simplify navigation, she color-coded the events and matched these colors with stickers on participants' badges, making the system easy to follow.
